Book Club: Against Technoableism: Rethinking Who Needs Improvement

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

DO-IT staff is facilitating a five-week book club on Against Technoableism: Rethinking Who Needs Improvement by Ashley Shew. The book explores what we think about disability and technology, and how we can change the discourse surrounding technology. Participants will have the chance to engage with the author over Zoom for a Q&A in a session open to a wider audience - date and time to be determined.

Register for the book club via this link.

Each week participants will read or skim a portion of the book and will meet as a group over Zoom to discuss what was learned or ask questions to the group. Please fill out the following form to register for the book club Against Technoableism: Rethinking Who Needs Improvement. We understand that participants will not be able to attend every meeting. These sessions are an opportunity to further engage with the book and each other but it is not required to attend them all. We ask that participants try to make at least three sessions.

DO-IT staff will send you a copy of the book upon successful registration so make sure you put the address you'd like the book to be mailed to in this form. There is also an audiobook version they can purchase for you, which will become available on 26 December 2023.
