Dr. Lauren Bricker teaches "our place in CS"

Cultural Competence in Computing (3C) Fellow, Dr. Lauren Bricker, works with students at the University of Washington's College of Engineering's Program for Inclusive Excellence (PIE). This role involves working with two specific cohort-based programs: The Allen School Scholars Program and UW STARS. Both programs aim to promote diversity and inclusivity in the field of computing, and Dr. Bricker has developed a module for these courses that explores "our place in CS." This module includes readings on topics such as imposter syndrome and identity, as well as opportunities for students to reflect on their existing communities and what they hope the Allen School community will be like. Dr. Lauren Bricker teaches Computer Science (CS) and 3D Modeling and Printing to students at the University of Washington's Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering where Dr. Bricker is a faculty member.
