Cultural Competence in Computing (3C) Fellow, Maria Mercedes Franco, Ph.D. has developed an Independent Studies course, MA-801 - Cultural Competence in Computing (3C) and STEM, at Queensborough Community College – The City University of New York. Dr. Franco is using an employability and career readiness focus in the course and a focus on enhancing cultural competence, understanding ethical and justice issues in computing, and exploring the impact of identity and intersectionality in the tech sector. Dr. Maria Mercedes Franco is currently a Professor in the Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Queensborough Community College – The City University of New York.
