Valerie Barr Elected as 2022 American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow

Dr. Valerie Barr, AiiCE Co-PI and Professional Development Constellation Lead, has been elected as a 2022 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Dr. Barr is being “honored for distinguished contributions to computer science education, and increasing the diversity in the computing fields.” Election as an AAAS Fellow honors members whose 'efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications in service to society have distinguished them among their peers and colleagues.' Dr. Barr will be featured in the AAAS News & Notes section of Science in February 2023.

Dr. Barr is Bard College’s Margaret Hamilton Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and teaches in the Computer Science Program.
