Research Constellation Lead
Dr. Barr is the Margaret Hamilton Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Bard Network Computing Initiative. Prior to joining Bard, she was the Jean Sammet Professor in the Computer Science Department at Mount Holyoke College. She was previously in the Computer Science Department at Union College. She spent 2013-2014 on temporary assignment to the National Science Foundation, serving as a program director in the Division of Undergraduate Education.
In addition to Union College, she was previously on the faculty at Hofstra University. During her graduate studies she taught at Pratt Institute, Rutgers University, Mount Holyoke College, and Polytechnic University (now NYU Tandon School of Engineering). She received her Masters degree from New York University and Ph.D. from Rutgers University.
