Bonilla-Silva receives Pitt Professorship of American History and Institutions at Cambridge University

Written by: Amare Swierc

Congratulations to Dr. Eduardo Bonilla-Silva (AiiCE Senior Personnel) for receiving a Pitt Professorship of American History and Institutions at Cambridge University, England. Dr. Bonilla-Silva is the James B Duke Distinguished Professor of Sociology. The Pitt Professorship (est. 1944) has a goal of bringing distinguished scholars and US-based historians and sociologists to teach Cambridge’s American history Program. Dr. Bonilla-Silva presided over the American Sociological Association in 2018, and his book “Racism Without Racists: Color-Blind Racism and the Persistence of Racial Inequality in America” effectively redesigned the study of American contemporary racism. Carrying on the legacy of Duke’s John Hope Franklin Pitt Professorship in 1962-1963, we wish all the best to Dr. Eduardo Bonilla-Silva in England!
